Caring for the Palate and the Planet
Our ethical approach to winemaking involves using the terroir and micro-climate of our boutique site, to create limited batch runs of delicious sparkling wines with minimal intervention and practically zero food miles, that also benefit from being vegan.
As we live and work amongst our 5-acre boutique vineyard in the Sussex countryside, we reinforce our family’s commitment to maintaining a sustainable wine business. We aim to minimise our carbon-footprint and create minimum waste including reducing unnecessary packaging on our Tickerage range of Quality Sparkling English Wines and Cyder.
As a family, we feel privileged to look out onto the vines and its stunning Wealden and Ashdown Forest backdrop. We are mesmerised by the beauty of nature and the plethora of plants and wildlife that we continually attract to our little slice of paradise during the ever-changing seasons.
We are therefore keen to play our part in maintaining our local and global environment. In order to do this, we’re constantly focusing on reducing the waste aspects linked to viticulture and oenology including refining and reducing unnecessary packaging. We offer our customers and suppliers the opportunity to purchase Tickerage without foil. This is generally found on fizz merely for presentation purposes. Additionally, we aim to keep a low carbon footprint including the near-zero food miles associated with delivering the grapes from our 3 fields to our on-site, purpose-built winery.
We are committed to being a sustainable first-generation family-owned and managed business. We do this by continually striving to deliver the best modern techniques and honest practices. This involves vineyard management, winery techniques and distribution to our individual suppliers and customers.
You can help the environment, minimise waste and packaging by opting to buy an unfoiled bottle of hand-crafted Tickerage. It has the same great taste, just less packaging waste.
